The English word “worship” is from the idea of “worth” or “worthy” ship.
-
Worship is our showing how much God is “worth” to us.
-
God made us for companionship with Himself.
-
God seeks our worship, just as we want to be with our children.
-
As a parent enjoys talking with his children, God delights to hear our prayers.

SUMMARY
-
Just as God would not accept Cain’s incorrect worship, neither will he accept ours.
-
Just because our worship is culturally accepted, does not mean that Gpd accepts it.
-
To successfully worship God, it must be what pleases Him not what pleases us.
-
Teaching doctrines which come from men results in worshipping men but not God.
-
If we live/worship disobediently, then our prayers are even detestable to God.
-
Incorrect worship so insults God that God once even consumed two priest by fire.
-
To take part with those who do not remain in the teaching of Christ is to also take part in their evil deeds.

Acts 20:7.
Hebrews 3:13
1 Corinthians 11:30
1 Corinthians 27,29
Luke 17:17
Romans 1:21
Psalms 122:1
SUMMARY
-
Christians are commanded not to forsake the assembling.
-
They gathered regularly on the 1st day (Sunday) to participate in the Lord’s Supper.
-
At the assembly, we receive and give needed encouragement lest we be hardened in sin.
-
A special remembrance of the Lord’s death through the Lord’s supper revives our spiritual commitment lest we become spiritually weak or dead.
-
If improperly participating in the Lord’s supper brings judgement upon ourselves, how much more when we do not participate at all?
-
As the lepers, the more so when one fails to show thankfulness for cleansing sins.
-
God’s wrath will be revealed (Romans 1:18, 21, 24) for those who live unthankfully.
