==The Poor & Poor in Spirit
The poor have no influence, power or help, therefore, they are downtrodden and oppressed by men. The poor put their trust in God. Thus, they are "poor in spirit." They realize they are dependent on God. There is no haughtiness of attitude thinking they have no need for anything or knowledge. But they look to God for their every need, especially spiritual needs.
That is why Jesus said, "For theirs is the kingdom of heaven."
